WEEKLY SCHEDULE

*Doors are open from 7:00 – 7:15 am. If you arrive after 7:15 am, you will need to buzz into the building using the main entrance.

Monday 5/18 – FINAL BAND REHEARSAL

  • Early morning open house band rehearsal 7:15 – 9:30 a.m. (Chorus students will leave for chorus rehearsal at 8:15 a.m.)

Tuesday 5/19

  • NO SCHOOL

Wednesday 5/20

  • NO EARLY MORNING REHEARSALS
  • Uniform and Instrument return night 6 – 8 p.m.
    • All 8th grade school instruments/equipment must be returned
    • All 6 & 7 grade students who are not returning next year MUST return their school owned instrument/equipment
    • Orchestra members do not have any uniform parts to return.
    • Jazz band members need to return their plaid cummerbund and bow tie.
    • Band members need to return their color guard hat or band hat with hat box, blue band jacket, gray band pants or plaid skirt, AND the numbered hanger you received your uniform on in September.

Thursday 5/22 – FINAL ORCHESTRA REHEARSAL

  • Early morning open house orchestra rehearsal 7:15 – 9:30 a.m.

Friday 5/16

  • NO EARLY MORNING REHEARSAL

Parents are strongly encouraged to volunteer and get involved in the instrumental music program. We need volunteers for parades, concerts, and many other activities. 

Parents must have their clearances on file in the Nitschmann office.  If you are not sure if your information is on file, contact the Nitschmann office at 610-866-5781. Information on how to renew or apply for your clearances can be found at http://www.nmsim.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/BASD-Volunteer-Clearance-Info.pdf.

Signing up to volunteer is quite simple. Open up CutTime through any message you’ve received and scroll through the events. Events that need chaperones are indicated with a green notice like in the image below. Simply click on the green chaperone request and follow the prompts.

Performing Arts Banquet – May 28

The performing arts ensembles are hosting a Performing Arts Banquet on May 28 at 6 pm.  This event is to recognize ALL the students who participated in the performing arts this year at Nitschmann Middle School.  The performing arts ensembles include all grade levels of all vocal ensembles, all instrumental ensembles, and dramatics.

There is a picnic meal for everyone in attendance prior to the awards and recognition ceremony. Students will be recognized during the ceremony for their hard work and accomplishments over the last school year. This event will be held in the cafeteria and auditorium.  This event is open to students, family and friends.

This form is due by Thursday, May 22.

The picnic meal costs $7.00 per person and will include:
Choice of Hot Dog, hamburger, or black bean veggie burger (ketchup, mustard packets), lettuce, sliced tomato
Assorted chips
Choice of iced tea, lemonade, or bottled water 
Choice of ice cream cone, ice cream sandwiches, or juice rush ice cup.

NIMAS By-Laws 2024

The final NIMAS general membership meeting is this Wednesday, June 4 at 7:30 pm in the instrumental music room. 

We would like to invite the parents of all incoming 5th graders to this meeting. We will provide you with information about the instrumental music programs and happily answer any questions you may have.

Attendees should enter through the MAIN BUILDING ENTRANCE. Doors will be unlocked from 7:20 – 7:40 P.M.

Each candy bar is sold for $2.00 (48 bars per box)

The seller earns $30 per box toward their fair share account

The NIMAS general fund receives $6 per box.

Candy is available for pickup at the monthly NIMAS meeting.
