*Doors are open from 7:00 – 7:15 am. If you arrive after 7:15 am, you will need to buzz into the building using the main entrance.

COLOR GUARD INFORMATION
Rehearsals during the school year are Monday, May 12, Thursday May 15, and Monday May 19.

This is the official announcement that LHS Majorette auditions will be held on Monday, May 12 beginning at 4:30pm. All candidates will meet in the LHS Band Room and then we will go from there.
- Candidates will come and learn a routine taught by the current LHS Majorette squad. This is used to see potential of the candidates in learning a routine.
- Candidates should come with a prepared routine of 48-64 counts displaying their twirling skills. It is preferred that students do their routine to music, but is not required.
- Candidates should plan to be at Liberty anywhere from 1.5-2 hours.
- Candidates should bring a copy of their most recent report card.

Tryout Dates for all Color Guard sections:
Week of May 12-16, 4:00-5:00pm
Nitschmann Band Room (enter through the Auditorium Entrance)
Monday through Thursday (May 12-15) you will learn the marching skills, equipment skills, and tryout routines.
Friday (May 16) you will perform your marching skills and tryout routine.
Tryout Information, Details, and Expectations:
- Any student who will be in 6th – 8th grade in the coming school year is eligible to try out. Students currently in color guard are required to try out for the upcoming season.
- Please complete the online registration form.
- Tryouts will consist of marching skills and a routine of equipment skills. All required skills will be taught to you at the tryout practices (Monday to Thursday).
- Students are allowed to try out for more than one section/equipment if they are worried about not making it into a particular section. (We will look for your strongest tryout on Friday.)
- Students are allowed to try out for color guard even if they play a band instrument and are planning on joining Nitschmann’s band. Many students participate in both band and color guard. Orchestra/Jazz Band students are also encouraged to join color guard.
- The Framework for Citizenship is in effect at all times. Students are expected to be respectful, responsible, focused performers.

Parents are strongly encouraged to volunteer and get involved in the instrumental music program. We need volunteers for parades, concerts, and many other activities.
Parents must have their clearances on file in the Nitschmann office. If you are not sure if your information is on file, contact the Nitschmann office at 610-866-5781. Information on how to renew or apply for your clearances can be found at http://www.nmsim.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/BASD-Volunteer-Clearance-Info.pdf.
Signing up to volunteer is quite simple. Open up CutTime through any message you’ve received and scroll through the events. Events that need chaperones are indicated with a green notice like in the image below. Simply click on the green chaperone request and follow the prompts.

Performing Arts Banquet – May 28
The performing arts ensembles are hosting a Performing Arts Banquet on May 28 at 6 pm. This event is to recognize the students who participated in the performing arts this year at Nitschmann Middle School. The performing arts ensembles include all vocal music, all instrumental music, and dramatics.
There is a picnic meal for everyone in attendance prior to the awards and recognition ceremony. Students will be recognized during the ceremony for their hard work and accomplishments over the last school year. This event will be held in the cafeteria and auditorium. This event is open to students, family and friends.
This form is due by Thursday, May 22.
The picnic meal costs $7.00 per person and will include:
Choice of Hot Dog, hamburger, or black bean veggie burger (ketchup, mustard packets), lettuce, sliced tomato
Assorted chips
Choice of iced tea, lemonade, or bottled water
Choice of ice cream cone, ice cream sandwiches, or juice rush ice cup.

NIMAS By-Laws 2024
The next NIMAS general membership meeting is this Wednesday, May 14 at 7:30 pm in the instrumental music room. Attendees should enter through the MAIN BUILDING ENTRANCE. Doors will be unlocked from 7:20 – 7:40 P.M.
